the beginning
Just a humble little business created by complete accident. 2021 was a shambles of a year for most, but for me it was the start of my chaotic new life as a Mum! So, with pregnancy came sore feet, and with sore feet came the search for a simple shoes to take a load off. Here is what led me to the discovery of 'pillow slides'. The best thing my tired feet could've asked for whilst looking pretty cool as well. So a very heavily pregnant woman, a laptop and a lightbulb moment and we were off! A couple months later a baby boy and a new small business was born.

Funk Monger has come a long way since its humble beginnings of selling on Facebook Market Place. 2 years on and we are a busy online store, alongside travelling around the country meeting the lovely local people of New Zealand at a select few Markets, Expo's and Shows showing off our Funk Monger Favourites

Our journey began with a pregnant soon-to-be Mum on a mission to find comfortable footwear without breaking the bank. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognised the importance and enjoyment of buying locally and supporting small businesses throughout Aotearoa.
